Mina, Nawe, Thina
Mina nawe sakhiwe ngenhloso
Gaz’lami siphiwe masphathisane
Kujigima amaphupho lude uhambo
Kodwa sizofika (isiqalo, nesiphetho)
Sengizobonga nothando
Abazali, abangani, umndeni, nebusiso
Impilo nempi nazo zonke izimo
Mpefumulo ungcwele
Wasithatha la, sesi le kude
Aware of the perils that will surely come
Is the light and the rays of this deathless sun
We’ve won, we win, we win again
When it rains it pours
Water galore
But lucky enough rainbows are not folklore
And in this journey we do learn to adore and there’s more
Guidance in the quiet places, in the friendly faces
Aslong as we know the greatness is
Mina, Nawe, Thina
Just a beautiful jazzy rap album with buttery smooth flows versed with huge talent. It's not only lovely to the ears, but the lyrics are profound and empowering about the struggles that she faces. zhangtastic
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
