Mello Music Group knocked it all the way out of the park with their first soul signing. If this is a sign of things to come from this group, bring it on.
Expanding horizons... Mello Music Group's first neo-soul group
About Seba Kaapstad... 🇩🇪🇸🇿🇿🇦
A collective human experience of shared culture and tradition, Seba Kaapstad presents an original neosoul experience with their new single, “Breathe”, out now. With an effortless hip hop beat permeating throughout the duration of the song, Seba Kaapstad masterfully intertwines jazzy chords and riffs with intricate vocals and natural ad libs. Drawing from their South African, Swazi, and German backgrounds, the group creates a harmony of genres that starkly contrasts the social division present in their respective countries of origin.
Seba Kaapstad consists of band members, Zoe, Pheel, Manana, and Seba. Through the global perspective of the members, Seba Kaapstad are able to explore a soundscape influenced by soul, groove, jazz, electronic and African music. Seba Kaapstad is excited to be both the first international and the first neo-soul act to sign with Mello Music Group joining a roster that already includes heavyweights like Oddisee, Quelle Chris, L’Orange, Georgia Anne Muldrow and many more.
lyrics
Breathe, slow, in, out.
Think I need some water
(walk slow)
Think I need some water
(I need to take a seconds breather)
Let me take a seat What a bad idea
Walk, step, step, step
Think I need some water
(walk slow)
Think I need some water
(I need to take a seconds breather)
Let me take a seat What a bad idea
Bap bap
Minds a crowded mess I need to take a seconds breather

Just a beautiful jazzy rap album with buttery smooth flows versed with huge talent. It's not only lovely to the ears, but the lyrics are profound and empowering about the struggles that she faces. zhangtastic
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
